  • Charlevoix County History Preservation Society
The first History Speaker Series event of 2014, "Scanners, Negatives, and Identifying Photos" will be at 7 p.m. Monday, March 31. The event will be held in the Boyne District Library Community Room at 201 East Main St. Guest Speaker will be Karen Giudice, professional genealogist and tech adviser for the Genealogy Interest Group. Everyone has that box of photos and negatives of people they don't know (or think they might know, but are not positive of their identity). What do we do with them? How do we preserve them for our children and grandchildren? How do we share them with family members that live many miles away? Karen will tell you what you need to know when purchasing a personal scanner to preserve your family photos, documents, heirlooms, and photo negatives, and give you clues to identify the time frame and those mysterious people in your family photos. This program is free and open to the public. For more information call 231-582-5326.
