    Boyne Area Senior Center, 411 E. Division St., is open to the public for daily lunches. For seniors age 60+, the donation is $3, for ages 60 and under. $6. For daily information call 582 6682.

    The Boyne City Farmers Market moves outdoors starting Wednesday, May 6,and continuing on Saturdays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to noon at Veterans Park.

  • Buff Up Boyne
    Boyne City's annual community-wide spring clean-up, is set for May 2, from 9 a.m.-noon. The Boyne City Main Street Program, organizer of the event, is calling all residents, civic organizations, and schools to lend their shovels, rakes, and brooms to give Boyne City a shine during the annual cleanup. Volunteers will be sweeping, picking up trash and raking up debris from the city's sidewalks, parks, alleys, and along the waterfront. Volunteers are asked to meet at Sunset Park in downtown Boyne City next to the Boyne Area Chamber of Commerce to sign in, get instructions on what areas need to be cleaned, and receive trash bags and gloves. All volunteers are asked to bring their own rakes, shovels and brooms. Refreshments will be served in the morning and a barbecue lunch will be served starting at 11:30 a.m. For more information, contact Lori Meeder at the Main Street office at 582-9009, or email mainstreet@boynecity.com.

  • Memorial Day
    Boyne City American Legion and VFW will hold memorial services at local cemeteries from 8 to 11 a.m. Monday, May 25. At 11:45 a.m. the veterans Memorial Day Procession will leave the American Legion Post, proceeding north on Lake Street to Veterans Memorial Park for services beginning at 12 noon. The Boyne City High School Band will perform, and all area veterans are invited to participate.

    BENEFIT BREAKFAST for the Boyne City Booster Foundation will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. Monday at Boyne City High School. Donation is $7.

    DARE 5K/1 MILE FUN RUN - Registration at 7 a.m., run starts at 8 Saturday in Sunset Park behind the Chamber office.
